Age: 24

Occupation: Homemaker

When did you start training at HTX Fitness? September 6, 2016

Favorite Workout:  Partner WoD's

Least Favorite Workout:  Anything overhead or to do with burpees! Lol

Tell us about your sports & fitness background:  Love volleyball,

basketball & softball. Never really been into fitness until I started with HTX

Take us back to your first workout… what was it, and how did it feel?

Strict press 3 rep max
15 min AMRAP
12 push press (95/65#)
10 burpees
30 sec plank holds
Felt pretty darn.... what's the word??! LOL but after after it was all done with I felt

really accomplished.

What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since

starting at HTX Fitness (before/after)? The amount of changes is crazy. Even if it's

a change that can't be seen, it can definitely be felt in my strength. I've lost body fat, gained

muscle, built strength & hopefully since I'm young this will keep my family history (that I'm

sure has passed down to me genetically) at a minimum! Told myself I might as well start

controlling my health before it's to late & it starts controlling me!! & start my kid(s) on the

right track.

What sort of changes in your life have you experienced since joining HTX that

were totally unexpected? Well, lifestyle & eating habits that's for sure. They aren't the best but let me tell you; they are better than they've ever been!! I LOVE FOOD (: Hadn't imagined myself EVER turning down so many things to eat when the old me would've eaten it all!! I have bad days, but it'll get better. I never thought I would had been so hooked & be a grouch when missing days of working out either. When I don't get my wods in I feel blah, just crappy! Now I see why people feel so in the dumps everyday if they're not active.

Name one goal you have reached since joining HTX Fitness and one goal you want to achieve (example:  deadlift/squat/press ___ pounds; do a pullup; do a workout RX’d, etc.): Achieved many goals but a hard one for me was pull-ups without assistance! Hmm.. one goal I want to reach? Oh! But there's so many more than just 1 :)) Butterfly pull-ups or muscle up, hmm.. the list goes on though, thanks to HTX!

Please share with us any favorite HTX Fitness moments: Myself accomplishing PR's, getting to witness & celebrate others accomplishments!! Everyone cheering on one another no matter if you're first, second, fifth or last!!!

Any advice for people just getting started? Don't be scared, you have to start somewhere!! I've never met such friendly people in my life during working out. You know you go to a gym & everyone's looking you sideways & like you're not someone. Not here, they welcome EVERYONE & push you to success. No matter who you are, where you start, you feel welcomed. THIS IS YOUR TIME. DON'T BE AFRAID OF BEING A BEGINNING, GET OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE & PUSH YOURSELF!!! It will be the best thing you have ever done. No matter your age, YOU CAN DO IT! There is something for everyone. I've never had such confidence, starting this fitness journey has been amazing. YOU could be next.

What are your hobbies, interests and/or talents outside of HTX? Love animals & outdoors. Fishing & hunting. Spending time with family & my outstanding husband, Billy. But my BEST talent is being a mom! ((:

ANGEL PECK - CrossFit Level 1 Trainer

For as long as Angel can remember she has always had a passion for sports and fitness. She played sports in school then started doing boot camps after high school. She then transitioned into the bodybuilding world doing NPC bikini competitions. She became a nationally qualified bikini competitor, but she didn't feel like that was the direction she wanted to go. Angel then shifted her direction and started doing CrossFit. After trying a few workouts, she was hooked. She knew immediately this was what she was looking for all these years. Now with several years of CrossFit experience and a competition under her belt, she believes it changed her life in so many ways. She truly believes it is the best thing for her mind, body and soul. Angel now has her CrossFit level one certification. She looks forward to sharing her knowledge and changing lives for others through HTX fitness boot camps. She believes that there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing others hit their fitness goals and achieve things they never thought possible.

LINDSEY FOJTIK - Previous NASM Personal Trainer

Lindsey Fojtik has been involved with sports through out her whole life. She grew up playing softball and started volleyball in middle school. She lost site of her athletic background during her two years of college, but she quickly found it again after graduating. Lindsey started taking boot camp classes in Sealy where she lived and soon thereafter found her passion for helping others who wanted to achieve their health and fitness goals. She completed her personal training certificate with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). After training clients in Sealy and Katy, Lindsey found CrossFit. She attended CrossFit Katy for several years, competing in a few competitions that were held. After moving to Hallettsville, she realized there wasn't a CrossFit box close, so she and her husband built one in their garage/barn, then HTX Fitness was born. Lindsey is currently looking to get her CrossFit Level 1 certification.

MEET YOUR TRAINERS

Constantly varied mix of movements from power lifting, Olympic weightlifting, plyometrics, interval running and rowing, gymnastics, kettlebell and dumbbell work, and so much more! The workouts strike a balance between maximal strength and high power output metabolic conditioning workouts and longer time domain, higher rep cardiovascular muscular endurance conditioning workouts. Workouts are generally done with a goal in mind of completing the work as fast as possible or getting the most work done in a set amount of time (while holding proper form of course!).
